In Honour of the Ones We Love, Inc. is an all-volunteer fundraising organization,
founded in 1997, that supports cancer patient care in our community. The Committee's focus is cancer and the devastating effects this disease has on its victims and their families.
In Honour of the Ones We Love, Inc. hosts high profile public events as well as educational speaking engagements. Our events attract thousands of attendees, including many prominent community leaders and have, to date, raised over $3,000,000.
We are all touched by cancer whether through a family member, friend or acquaintance. Our goal is to help ease the hardship for people dealing with cancer, from the moment of diagnosis to treatment, and make the community self sufficient so patients and their families don't have to leave Windsor-Essex County to receive treatment and support.
Currently we are committed to supporting Windsor Regional Hospital's Paediatric Outpatient Services. These services, which include oncology, day surgery, medical day care, outpatient clinics and child life services, are specifically designed to address the special needs of children who are afflicted with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
In Honour of the Ones We Love, Inc. has contributed to the purchase of a Blood Lab, CT-Scan Machine, Brachytherapy Radiation Table, a SARA Lift, a Giving Tree, In Honour of the Ones We Love - Family Tree, Summer Camp for Children, a Respite & Palliative Care Home and an Oncology Procedure Room!
Our fundraising efforts would not be possible without the support of our volunteers, sponsors and those who attend our events. It is because of our community’s generous spirit that we have been able to accomplish so much to improve local cancer patient care.
Our future commitment is to Paediatric Outpatient Services at Windsor Regional Hospital to assist with the many areas for children dealing with cancer and life-threatening diseases whether Oncology, Day Surgery, Medical Day Care, Outpatient Clinics and Child Life Services, a program which familiarizes children with medical procedures when hospitalized.
Each year more people are made aware of the work done by In Honour of the Ones We Love, Inc. and get involved. The support offered by the generous people in the community makes it easier for the organization to keep fighting for cancer patient care!
