Antonella Theresa Travo

October 15 1961 - July 18 2026

Our hearts are forever changed as we share the passing of our beloved Antonella Travo, who peacefully left this world on Saturday, July 18th, at the age of 64, surrounded by the love of her family, who meant everything to her.

Born on October 15, 1961, in Pietrafitta, Italy, Antonella built a life centered around the people she loved most. Her family was her greatest joy, and she found happiness in the everyday moments - the laughter, the conversations, the gatherings, and the memories created with those closest to her.

Antonella shared a beautiful love story with her devoted husband, Libero, with whom she spent 45 wonderful years of marriage. Their relationship was built on love, friendship, laughter and a deep respect for one another. They were true partners in life, always supporting each other and sharing in the moments that made their life together so special. The love they shared was a beautiful example of the kind of love that lasts a lifetime.

Antonella was a devoted and loving mother to her daughters, Emma and Elisa. Her daughters were her greatest pride and joy, but they were also her best friends. The bond they shared was something truly special. She treasured every moment with them - whether it was a simple visit, a family gathering, a phone call, or one of their thousands of texts throughout the day. Those everyday moments meant the world to her, and the love between them will forever remain.

She was also a loving and cherished mother-in-law to Salvatore Allevato and Brian Simone, whom she welcomed into her family with open arms and treated like sons of her own. Antonella was a loving daughter to Francesco and Raffaella Falsetta. The love she shared with her parents was truly special. She found so much happiness in being close to them, and living right next door allowed them to share everyday moments and memories together. She was predeceased by her beloved parents-in-law, Pasquale and Gemma Travo, who loved her as one of their own.

She was a loving big sister to brothers Frank and Carlo Falsetta. Although she was the oldest, she would often jokingly introduce herself as the youngest. She loved her little brothers with all her heart and treasured the close bond they shared throughout their lives. While she was their big sister, she often looked up to them, admired them and found comfort in their strength. They loved, protected and stood by her through every chapter of life, surrounding her with love until her very last breath.

Antonella shared a truly special bond with her sisters-in-law, Fiorina and Sherry Falsetta. Together they shared countless laughs, heartfelt conversations and treasured moments. The love they shared, the memories they created and the friendship they built will forever be deeply cherished. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law, Marisa, Minuccia and Teresa and brothers-in-law, Peppino and Franco, in Italy. From the moment Antonella became part of their family, they embraced her with open hearts and loved her as their own. They admired the deep love and devotion she showed their brother throughout their marriage, and were forever grateful for the care, strength and kindness she gave him.

Antonella was blessed with a friendship like no other with Rosa, her beloved and sweet “soul sister.” Rosa was a constant source of love, strength and encouragement throughout Antonella’s journey and beyond, and their special bond was a beautiful gift that she carried in her heart always.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her many nieces and nephews both here in Canada and in Italy, as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends who were blessed to know her. The love and connections she built throughout her life reached far beyond distance, leaving behind a family and community who will forever carry her memory.

Above all, one of Antonella’s greatest joys in life was being a Nanna to Ariana, Ella, Sammy and Matteo. They were the light of her life and brought her a happiness that was beyond words. She treasured every moment with them - every hug, every laugh, every conversation and every memory they created together. Her love for her grandchildren was endless and unconditional. She took immense pride in watching them grow and loved nothing more than being a part of their lives. The love she poured into them will continue to live on through the memories they share and the love they will always carry for their Nanna.

Throughout her life, Antonella dedicated herself to helping others. She was a valued member of the team at Connections Early Years Family Center, where she proudly worked for nearly 30 years. As a Program Manager of the EarlyON Center and volunteer coordinator, she touched the lives of many through her compassion, patience and dedication to the families and individuals she supported. Her work was more than a career - it was a reflection of the caring, generous person she was. Antonella had a wonderful competitive spirit and loved the joy that came from being part of a team. She especially loved playing bocce ball and took great pride in being part of a team that achieved first place at one of their tournaments. She loved the friendships, laughter and memories created along the way. Antonella’s love extended beyond people to the many animals who were lucky enough to be part of her life. She adored her fur baby Gioia, who brought her endless love and happiness. She had a huge heart for animals and could never turn away one in need.

Antonella found so much happiness in bringing people together. She loved baking, hosting and making sure no one ever left her home hungry. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter and love. She was truly the life of the party, with her big, beautiful smile, infectious laughter and the incredible ability to make everyone around her feel welcomed and loved. She had a way of making people feel at home, and that is something so many will miss about her.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff on the 4th floor of Metropolitan Hospital, with special appreciation to Angela Italiano. We are forever grateful for the kindness, care and support they provided to Antonella and our family during this incredibly difficult time. Antonella’s love will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched, the memories she created and the family she loved so deeply. Although she is no longer with us, the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be forever loved, forever missed and never forgotten.
